Most people who are buying or selling a home or property are usually a little nervous about doing so unless they have done it a few times.
Is there much in the way of a guidebook available on the internet for helping folks to know what the process is when buying and selling real estate in Australia. As I read your forum posts, it seems that both clients of real estate agents and For Sale By Owner sellers and buyers would benefit from understanding what they must do, what is done for them, and why. Another area of concern is how much the standard process of selling or buying real estate costs as far as government fees go.
What sort of advice can you give to anyone looking at buying or selling for the first time....like if they need solicitors, conveyancers, agents, etc., and what sort of order does the process follow?
Does each state and territory in Australia have different regulations and fees, like stamp duty and title office charges? Can a person do everything on thier own or will they need to have outside help to complete a sale, whether buying or selling?
I have a website advertising properties for sale in Tasmania and would like to include such a guide for all my customers, site visitors and anyone who is just interested in such things. As I stated before, it seems most people are a little apprehensive about contracts and sales, even if using an agent. I am sure there are guides to real estate buying and selling out there, but if you know anything about the internet, you would understand just how tricky it can be to find the right answers.
I thought that by getting proper advice from a legal source, and preferrably from an unbiased group of legal practitioners whose profession is the property industry, would be best for everyone. This is why ask here.
